Effect on hydrophobicity modification of lignite with the blending of cationic-anionic surfactant

Abstract: Properties of the blended solution of cationic surfactant dodecyltrimethylammonium bromide (DTAB) and anionic surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfonate (SDS) under different molar ratio were estimated,and the wetting calorific value,the moisture re-absorption rate,the infrared spectroscopy and the Zeta potential value were determined after the mentioned blended surfactants were absorbed by lignite.Results show that the synergistic effect of the blended surfactants on reducing the effectiveness and efficiency of surface tension has been performed;and compared with separated surfactant,the wetting calorific value and the moisture re-absorption rate are reduced obviously,while the effect and method of blended surfactants on lignite are also certified via infrared spectroscopy and Zeta potential value.These indicate that the blended surfactants have an obvious synergistic effect on the hydrophobic modification of lignite compared with the corresponding single surfactant.
