Study on extraction conditions of ultraviolet absorption components from hemp powder

Abstract: Ethanol extraction method was used to extract the ultraviolet (UV) absorption active components in hemp powder.The UV absorbance of the supernatant liquid and the bottom sediment was determined by solution method and 3M tape method respectively.The extraction process was optimized with the UV absorbance as the index.Firstly,the experiment was carried out to explore an appropriate extraction process at room temperature.Then,factors like time,temperature and mass fraction of hemp powder in the suspension were tested to investigate their influence on UV absorbance.Results showed that ethanol is suitable to be used to extract the sunscreen active ingredients in the hemp powder (the main absorption wavelength is between 200 and 350 nm),and the optimum extraction conditions of the sunscreen ingredients are:extraction temperature,55 ℃;extraction time,1 h;mass fraction of the hemp powder,15%.
