Abstract: Gemini surfactant bis-(sodium N-ethylene dodecylamide ethyl sulfonate) was prepared with ethylenediamine,lauric acid,phosphorus trichloride and sodium 2-bromo ethyl sulfonate as starting materials.The process conditions for synthesis of the intermediate were optimized and the structure of the final product was characterized.Performance of the final product,such as surface activity,foaming power and emulsifying power were measured.Results showed that aqueous solution of the final product at 24 ℃,the critical micelle concentration (cmc) value is 0.53 mmol/L,γ_cmc is 29.73 mN/m.It displays good surface activity,foaming power,and emulsifying power.
