Abstract: In order to improve loading performance for adsorption of organic pesticide acetamiprid on sodium montmorillonite (Na-MMT),the latter was modified by surfactant didodecyldimethylammonium bromide (DDAB) via the cation exchange mode, using ultrasonic-high-speed shearing method to promote its intercalation reaction. Then, the structure and properties of the modified montmorillonite were characterized and determined by means of X-ray diffractometer (XRD),Fourier transform infrared spectrometer (FTIR),thermogravimetric analysis (TG),transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and Raman spectroscopy (Raman).Experimental results showed that the DDAB has been successfully intercalated into the montmorillonite interlayer, significantly increasing its interlayer spacing.Pesticide adsorption test result showed that the modified montmorillonite displays better loading performance for adsorption of acetamiprid.
