Abstract: Phase behavior of microemulsion system formed with nonionic surfactant was studied.Effects of emulsification temperature, content of components, carbon chain length of the polyol, additives and pH on the microemulsion droplets particle size and Zeta potential value were examined. Results showed that the optimal emulsifying temperature is 80 ℃ and the partical size of the droplets is at the minimum. The optimum mass fraction of the separate components is 1% of sweet almond oil,10% of polyoxyethylene (21) stearyl alcohol ether,10% of 1,2-propylene glycol,0.4% of sodium chloride,78.6% of deionized water. In addition,1,2-propylene glycol is to be added as co-emulsifying agent.Under relatively low pH condition, the microemulsion droplets size is at the minimum, and the system is stable.
