Determination of 32 kinds of banned and/or restricted dyestuff in hair dyes by high performance liquid chromatography

Abstract: A reversed phase high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method was established for the determination of 32 kinds of banned and/or restricted dyestuff in hair dyes.The 32 kinds of dyestuff were divided into three groups according to the value of pKa of each component.ZORBAX Extend C18 (4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) column and ZORBAX Bonus-RP C18 (4.6 mm×250 mm,5 μm) column were used.Methanol,acetonitrile and buffer salts with pH of 7.0,8.0 and 9.0 respectively were used as the mobile phase.The flow rate was 1.0 mL/min and the detection wavelengths were 280,230 and 250 nm respectively.All the RSD values are lower than 5%.The spiked recovery achieves 70% to 130%.
